ROEMHELD AT WINDEXPO IN TOKYO
The North Rhine-Westphalian Minister for the Environment Johannes Remmel visited the booth of the workholding specialist ROEMHELD at the trade fair for wind energy "WindExpo" in Tokyo

There, he learned about its Rotorlock rotor locking systems for wind turbines. In view of the discussions about a nuclear phase-out in Japan, the industry's leading trade fair in the Asia-Pacific region was of particular importance for the German wind power industry as a technology leader in renewable energies.

Takahiko Amanuma from the Japanese ROEMHELD sales company welcomed the minister at the booth of the company, which manufactures in North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Austria. He presented him with elements for the production, testing and maintenance of large components for wind turbines, including the rotor lock locking cylinder and linear drives, which are used, for example, to adjust flaps and hatches in nacelles.

Remmel had the rotor locking system, which has already been successfully launched on the market, explained to him in detail and wished luck for further success. ROEMHELD, which manufactures its products according to customer-specific requirements, supplies customers all over the world. The Asian countries are important markets.

Hydraulically or electromechanically moved rotor lock

The hydraulically or electromechanically moved rotor lock can withstand lateral forces of up to 5,500 kN. It reliably and safely locks rotors of onshore and offshore wind turbines with up to six megawatts of power and more. The optional mechanical or inductive position monitoring of the bolt helps to meet the highest safety standards. Extremely compact in design, it is adapted to the confined space in the nacelle. By using standard components, even complex special designs can be manufactured quickly and cost-effectively.

For shear forces up to 7,000 kN and systems up to 6.5 megawatts

ROEMHELD manufactures the rotor lock, which can be moved hydraulically or electromechanically, according to customer specifications and supplies customers all over the world. The rotor lock can withstand transverse forces of up to 7,000 kN and is used for locking the rotors of onshore and offshore wind turbines with an output of up to 6.5 megawatts. With its compact design, the locking module is adapted to the confined space conditions in the nacelle. The use of standardized components makes it possible to manufacture even complex special designs quickly and cost-effectively.
